I have over thirty years’ experience in the Financial Services Industry, and in that time, I have moved from working in a more direct sales role, with several major insurance companies, including Save and Prosper, Guardian Financial Services and Sun Life of Canada, to the IFA sector, in which I started in 1993. Since starting Curo with my business partner Stuart in 2004, I have also assumed the responsibility for the compliance functions within the company, a role that is always at the foremost of any reputable company strategy. I possess significant experience in all aspects of financial planning, both corporate and personal, investing considerable time and effort to ensure that my client’s needs are met to their satisfaction. I am married with two children, who keep me very busy at the end of my working week.
Having worked at Curo for over 10 years, I have progressed to become a fully qualified financial adviser and, in this time, I have garnered considerable experience in dealing with all facets of financial advice from mortgages and life insurance to pensions and investments for both individual clients and whole companies. I have spent considerable time dealing with clients and their needs priding myself on the service I provide to match the high levels expected and what we consistently deliver at Curo Advisers. I am married with two children and like to lead an active lifestyle in my spare time.
I am an independent financial planner with over 25 years’ experience, having worked for major investment providers on both the technical and advisory aspects of pensions and investments. I help individuals and business owners put together a tailored financial plan to manage their investments using detailed forecasting techniques, whilst at the same time looking to simplify the jargon that often surrounds financial products. I have considerable experience advising clients of other professional advisers, such as Solicitors and Accountants, who have high-value assets, along with individuals who act as Trustees and beneficiaries of personal injury and fatal accident settlements.
I qualified as a CeMap mortgage adviser in 2003 but left the industry shortly afterwards to pursue a successful career in a completely different direction. I worked as a depot manager within the kitchen trade for 10 years where I prided myself on excellent customer service. The level of service given led to many repeat orders from long standing customers. I re-entered the financial services sector in 2013 and have been working for Curo ever since.
I started my career working in general insurance with Legal and General in 1998. After starting a family, I then began working in Customer Service in the utilities industry, a role that I enjoyed and which I continued to work in for eleven years, while raising my children and studying part time for a Social Sciences degree with The Open University, from which I graduated in 2014. In 2012 I joined Curo as an Administrator. I enjoy all aspects of my role, especially dealing with clients and any queries that they may have.
I started working for Tricity Finance in Caerphilly at the age of sixteen in the typing pool, it went on to be Lombard Tricity part of the Nat West Bank Group. I progressed into the Cashiers department and then the Finance department where I was supervisor reporting to our head office in Enfield. I worked there for twenty-three years until I was made redundant in two thousand and three. I then worked for Lloyds, Black Horse for a few years in the reconciliation department and went on to be a supervisor of a team of six. I started working for Curo in two thousand and seven. My main role is reconciling accounts and preparing figures for Management and Accountants. I also help with the day-to-day roles within the office. My passion is formula one and cooking. I love family life; I am married with two children and have four grandchildren with another one on the way.
With over 35 years’ experience in financial services, I specialise in helping individuals to achieve their financial objectives, and pride myself on maintaining long term client relationships, spanning more than 30 years, whilst tailoring a set of products to meet their needs. I have vast experience collaborating with other financial professionals to understand client needs and create a bespoke pathway. I guide clients through every stage of the process and provide continuous updates to encompass all possible products from protection and insurance to wills and trust planning if needed.
Having left full-time education, I started in Financial Services working in a Sales Support role at L&G. After 6 years, I moved to NPI as a Senior Administrator, before moving into a training role teaching others on all aspects of NPI’s pension policies. After 10 years at NPI, I joined South Wales Police for 22 years. Upon retirement from the Police, I worked for over 4 years at Llandough Hospital. Having now come to work at Curo Financial Advisers I feel my career has gone full circle. Outside work I enjoy an active life – running, going to the gym, cycling, playing cricket alongside singing in a choir. I am married with 3 children and 5 grandchildren
